Legend of Triana
I read this: Mythological birth of Triana: The legend goes that the Goddess Astarte, feeling the amorous persecution of Hercules, took refuge at the bank of the river which is now known as Triana. The all-powerfull Hercules sailed up the Guadalquivir, mistakenly concentrating his search on the other side, so he was unable to find her. However, his search was not totally fruitless, because the land he discovered pleased him so much that he decided to found a city on it. He gave it the name Hispalis with regards Astarte the Semetic godness of fertility, she felt the same about the bank which she had taken refuge and she thought that the privileged nature which surrounded her was the ideal place to erect a new city.
She gave it the name Triana. Do you know why Andalucia did the promotion of this place as Mallorca ? Do you know the bridge - el puente or el finde is called the weekend ? Triana has as well as the art treasure : What is it ? Well, Modona with the rose ....the picture you can find it in church Santa Ana At the beginning of the sixteenth century, the year of 1508, came to Seville from Cordoba, the great master who had to impose their style to the Seville painters for a generation.
