Tales are set in a school in Rome and colleges in London in the early 1960’s.
They are fiction of course but some material may have been inspired by actual events and situations. Parents and students occasionally intervene. Headmasters are often involved in crises, but the main focus is on young teachers and how they are getting on.
Most of the action takes place on campus but there are adventures off campus at an Arts Ball and at a hotel in Condom, for example, and some of the most profound thinking and story-telling take wing in some select birrerie and trattorie.
